(Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020) Saint Paul police are investigating an apparent homicide after a man was found dead on the 2200 block of Seventh Street West on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Officers responded to a 911 call at about 9:15 p.m. and found the man inside a house. He was suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound, not breathing and unresponsive. The officers attempted to render aid and called St. Paul Fire medics to the scene. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead without being transported to a hospital.

Patrol officers secured the home, began looking for possible witnesses and held the scene until members of the homicide and forensic services units could arrive.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and no arrests have been made. Investigators ask anyone with information to call 651-266-5650.

Once the scene has been secured and processed, the Ramsey County medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine an exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn.

This is the 28th homicide of the year in Saint Paul.
