At approximately 11:46 a.m., officers were called to Harding High School on the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they located school staff providing first aid to a juvenile male who was suffering from apparent stab wounds. Saint Paul Fire medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Regions Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officers located a possible suspect at the school and took him into custody. The suspect and victim are both students at Harding High School.
Officers secured the scene and located possible witnesses. Homicide Investigators are working to determine what led to this incident. The Forensic Services Unit will be processing the scene for evidence.
The Ramsey County medical examiner will positively identify the victim and determine his exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn.
This is the 1st homicide of 2023 in Saint Paul.
