At approximately 9 p.m., officers were called to a residence on the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they located an adult female who was suffering from apparent stab wounds to her upper body.
Multiple witnesses on scene were holding an adult male suspect. Officers took the man into custody.
Saint Paul Fire medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Regions Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Homicide investigators are working to determine what led to this incident. The forensic services unit will be processing the scene for evidence.
The Ramsey County medical examiner will positively identify the victim and determine her exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn.
This is the 8th homicide of 2023 in Saint Paul.
