STATE OF THE YOUTH ADDRESS
Youth from across Saint Paul will deliver speeches that identify key issues, policy proposals, and budget recommendations for city leaders.
Saint Paul, MN – Council Member Kim and Event Director Jacy Johnson Becker announced a first of its kind, State of Our Youth Address.
The State of The Youth Address will take place at the North End Community Center on Thursday, August 20 with remarks beginning at 4:00pm. This event will foster engagement between our city’s budget process and the youth who live here. This Youth-driven address will create a civically engaging space for youth to speak out on issues directly affecting them, so that they may impact budget priorities. Youth will have the opportunity to meet and speak directly with public leaders and community members. This is a continuation of the city’s commitment to bring youth into policymaking processes.

“I am elated to launch with Jacy the first of its kind city address that focuses exclusively on the youth in our city,” Council Member Kim said, “We are so lucky to have incredible youth leaders in Saint Paul. I am looking forward hearing about the issues they want us to take on and what budget priorities they will have.”
