• Project is mostly wrapped up.

• Crosswalks are scheduled to be striped.
• Tree planting is scheduled.
• Work is weather permitting.

Some additional clean up work may occur through November 30, 2025. Additional clean up will be done in spring 2025.

What happened this week (November 11 - 15)?

• Black dirt restoration and soil stabilization has been done. 
• All striping and permanent signage has been placed.

What will happen next week (November 18 - 22)?

• Black dirt and soil stabilization for the winter will be finished.
• Tree planting is scheduled.
• Traffic control will be removed once turf restoration and tree planting has been completed.
• Project will be wrapping up for the season. 
• Work is weather permitting.

What happened this week (November 4 - 8)?

• Clean up and boulevard restoration continued.
• The final layer of pavement was placed.

What will happen next week (November 11 - 15)?

• Permanent signing and striping is scheduled to be done.
• Tree planting is scheduled.
• Winter stabilization will be done to maintain turf through the winter. Boulevard seeding will be done in spring 2025.
• Work is weather permitting.

The project will be substantially wrapped up by November 15, 2024, weather permitting. Some additional clean up work may occur through November 30, 2025. Additional clean up and seeding work will be done in spring 2025.

What happened this week (October 28 - November 1)?

• Clean up and restoration has started and will continue into next week.
• Miscellaneous concrete work on the project will be completed by end of the week, completing all the concrete work on the project. 
• Started to dig out/grade boulevards and prepare them for black dirt. 
• On Friday, November 1, contractor will mill sections of pavement on Suburban Avenue and on Burns Avenue to make grade corrections in the pavement. 
  • Paving will be done immediately following the milling.
  • Most of this work will be at the intersection of Suburban Avenue and Burns Avenue and on the southwest corner of Burns Avenue and Ruth Street. 
  • Expect some delays during this work and follow the directions of any flaggers on site.

What will happen next week (November 4 - 8)?

• Clean up and restoration will continue
• Black dirt and winter stabilization will occur. 
• Pavement marking removal will start.
• New pavement striping will be done on Suburban Avenue and then at Burns Avenue and Ruth Street , and a few other miscellaneous locations. 
• Sign installation will occur late in the week or early the following week.
• Tree planting may start late next week, but most likely will be the following week.

What happened this week (October 21 - 25)?

• The intersection of Suburban Avenue and Burns Avenue had the base course of asphalt placed. 
• The few remaining sections of curb and gutter were completed.
• A vast majority of the sidewalk will be poured by the end of Friday, October 25.
• All of the pedestrian ramps east of Ruth Street except for the one on the northeast corner of Burns Avenue and Winthrop Street will be completed by the end of Friday, October 25.
• Tree removal on the southwest corner of Burns Avenue and McKnight Road will be completed on Friday, October 25.

What will happen next week (October 28 - November 1)?

• Clean up and restoration will begin in some locations.
• Pavement marking removal and new striping will be happening.
• Monday, October 28 the Terra Pointe apartments driveways will be asphalt patched.
• Some milling (removing the top surface of the roadway) and paving will also be done in the latter part of the week on Suburban Avenue at Burns Avenue and on Burns Avenue and Ruth Street. 
  • The Village’s apartments driveway requires some milling and paving that will be done at the same time.
• Restoration and clean up will continue as things are completed throughout the week.

What happened this week (October 14 - 18)?

• Asphalt patching was done on the road cuts on Burns Avenue east of Ruth Street to McKnight Road.
• Excavation for sidewalk on the south side of Burns Avenue continued.
• Asphalt patching has mostly been completed at the Villages apartments, but some additional work is needed.
• Asphalt patching has been completed on one of the driveways at Terra Point apartments to allow access for residents while the other driveway is completed. 
  • Please use caution and drive slowly while entering and exiting the driveway.
• Continue to place curb and gutter.
• Most of the sewer work has been completed.

What will happen next week (October 21 - 25)?

• Excavation for sidewalk will continue. Most of the excavation work will be west of Ruth Street and on the south side of Suburban Avenue.
• Grading and compacting work for sidewalk placement will continue.
• Curb tie ins next to storm drains and other locations will be poured.
• Asphalt road patching on Burns Avenue east of Ruth Street will be done early in the week.
• Roadway paving at Burns Avenue and Ruth Street and at Suburban Avenue and Burns Avenue is scheduled for later in the week.

Traffic impacts

• Watch for and follow directions from flaggers who will direct traffic during paving work.
• Traffic control set up will continue the same.
• Please use caution and drive slowly through work areas.

What happened this week (October 7 - 11)?

• Sewer work on Suburban Avenue and Burns Avenue is completed.
• Curb and gutter between Ruth Street and McKnight Road  has been poured.
• Started subcutting for the sidewalk and this work will continue.
• Tree removals and stump grinding should be completed this week.

What will happen next week (October 14 - 18)?

• Subcutting for the sidewalk will continue.
• Grading and compacting work for sidewalk placement will continue.
• Curb ties ins next to drainage structures and other radius tie in will be poured.
• Asphalt road patching east of Ruth Street on Burns Avenue will be done early in the week.
• Road paving at Burns Avenue and Ruth Street and at Suburban Avenue and Burns Avenue is scheduled for later in the week.

Traffic impacts

• Access to Terra Pointe apartments and all businesses on Burns Avenue will be available with minor disruptions throughout the work day.

What happened this week (September 30 - October 4)?

• Traffic control is set up and will be up through the remainder of the project.
• Burns Avenue is closed to vehicle traffic at the intersection with Suburban Avenue. 
  • Suburban Avenue will remain open to traffic.
  • Use Ruth Street to access businesses and residents on Burns Avenue between Suburban Avenue and Ruth Street.
• Pavement and curb removals have started and will be completed today up to Ruth Street.

What will happen next week (October 7 - 11)?

• Sewer work will begin on Suburban Avenue Monday morning in front of Wendy’s and then progress to the Burns/Suburban intersection and will wrap up Tuesday.
• Curb and gutter work is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
• The driveway aprons at Terra Pointe apartments will be part of the curb and gutter work next week.
• The pavement sections on Suburban Avenue from White Bear Avenue to Ruth Street will be graded and prepped in the latter part of the week after most of the curb work has been finished.
• Removals will continue on Burns Avenue east of Ruth Street starting at Pedersen Street and working east from there.

Traffic impacts

• Access to Terra Pointe apartments and all businesses on Burns Avenue will be available with minor disruptions throughout the work day.
