    Tree Removals and Replacements

The city works to minimize the construction impacts to trees wherever possible. Tree removals and replacements are part of every street construction project as construction activities can be damaging to adjacent boulevard trees. This project is expected to have minimal impacts to trees.

Tree removals will be completed by April 14, 2026, due to endangered species habitat regulations. Trees to be removed will be marked in advance with paint, with a red X on the trunk. Additional trees may need to be removed during construction.

Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Plans

Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is a nationwide effort to make it safe, convenient, and fun for children to bicycle and walk to school. Safe Routes to School benefits students and communities. Walking or biking to and from school is an easy way for kids to get exercise, stay healthy, and arrive at school ready to learn. More kids walking and bicycling to school reduces traffic and air pollution near schools and helps to unite neighborhoods.
