U.S. Supreme Court Rules in favor of sexual orientation and gender identity

On June 15, 2020, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that transgender employees are protected under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Court ruled that Title VII's ban on sex discrimination extends to an employee's sexual orientation and transgender status thus it cannot be used as a basis for an employee's termination.
