Q. How do YJ2 Interns get paid?

A. YJ2 interns are primarily paid directly by the employer partners. Employers are asked to provide:

  • A minimum wage of $12.50 per hour

Q. Do employers need to be located in Saint Paul to host a Right Track Intern?

A. Employers do not need to be located in Saint Paul to host interns. We do take accessibility with public transportation into consideration as we place interns.

Q. How to I apply to host a Right Track Intern?

A. If you are a new employer you can pledge to host a Right Track intern on our Right Track Hub. If you are a returning employer you can log into the Right Track hub and update your job posting or contact Nardos.tesfalidet@ci.stpaul.mn.us

Q. How many interns can I host?

A. We do not have a limit on the number of interns an employer partner can host, that depends on the employers capacity to host interns. With that being said, we do ask that employers consider hosting more than one intern or hosting a cohort of interns. There are many benefits for interns to have a peer network during their internship.

Q. Can we host the same interns for multiple summer programs?

A. Yes, some interns do return to the same placement. It would need to be mutually agreed upon by both the employer and the intern.

Q. Can my intern stay on throughout the school year?

A. Yes, some internships go into the fall or throughout the school year if the intern has the availability and interest. You will want to take into consideration their limited availability due to school, sports, or other commitments.

Q. Can interns work remotely?

A. Yes, Right Track interns can work remotely. Please refer to our remote work guide for tips on successfully hosting a remote intern!
