Downtown celebrated the opening of its new ALDI grocery store on Thursday, September 24, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and special deals for early bird shoppers. The downtown ALDI, 115 10th St. E, will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Matt Lilla, ALDI’s regional vice president, cited Saint Paul’s infrastructure investment, parking, population density, and walkability as key factors in the company's decision to open a location downtown. ALDI is taking over the space vacated last year by Lunds & Byerlys at the intersection of Robert and 10th.
