City of Saint Paul Pauses Applications for the Downpayment Assistance and Homeowner Rehab Programs, including Inheritance Fund Programs
The City of Saint Paul has closed applications for the Downpayment Assistance and the Homeowner Rehab programs, including applications for the Rondo Inheritance Fund, following a high volume of applications. During this pause, staff will process previously submitted applications in the order received.
“We are thrilled with the interest in our housing assistance programs — it tells us we’re providing a city service that’s relevant to people’s lives,” said Mayor Melvin Carter. “Now, our focus is on getting funding out the door and into the hands of our residents.”
These City of Saint Paul housing programs were developed to support the wealth-building opportunities provided by homeownership to low- and moderate-income households and to address racial disparities in homeownership.
“Interest skyrocketed after the exciting addition of the Inheritance Fund layer to the programs," said Saint Paul Housing Director Tara Beard. “As we focus our effort to serving the hundreds of applicants currently on the waitlist, we look forward to reopening the application process at a later date and continuing to support the long-term future of these programs.”
