SAINT PAUL, MN – Today, Mayor Melvin Carter invited community members to serve on Saint Paul committees, boards, and commissions. Saint Paul has 31 committees, boards and commissions focused on policy and programs that shape the city.
"Our committees, boards, and commissions directly impact our quality of life on a daily basis," said Mayor Melvin Carter. "I encourage community members to apply for these public service opportunities to help lead Saint Paul forward."
There are currently 33 vacancies across the 14 boards listed below.
- Advisory Committee on Aging
- Advisory Committee – People with Disabilities
- Business Review Council
- Capital Improvement Budget Committee
- Civil Service Commission
- Community Health Services Advisory Committee
- Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization
- Neighborhood STAR Board
- Parks and Recreation Commission
- Planning Commission
- Saint Paul Neighborhood Network Board of Directors
- Truth-in-Sale of Housing Board of Evaluators
- Warm Air Heating and Ventilation Installers Board of Examiners
- Workforce Innovation Board
Appointments are made when serving members have reached their term limits, or when members leave or resign from their appointment. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be considered as openings become available. Applicants are encouraged to review the board description, including the board composition, as some boards have seats designated based on geography, organizational affiliation, or other factors.
The City of Saint Paul actively seeks applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences to reflect and represent the diverse communities of Saint Paul. Currently, 42% of 265 appointees self-identify as an ethnicity other than Caucasian/Non-Hispanic; 3% identify as other; 1% prefer not to say.
