Saint Paul’s 2017 Park Permit Lottery to be held Tuesday, January 3

Lottery numbers to be issued to Saint Paul residents and businesses during half-hour window

City of Saint Paul residents and businesses can apply in person for park permits beginning Tuesday, January 3, 2017.  The Parks Permit Office, located at 1100 North Hamline Ave, will open at 6:30 a.m. with lottery numbers issued from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Due to the high demand for certain dates and locations, the lottery system is used to give residents and businesses an equal opportunity to make reservations.

Park permits will be issued starting at 7:01 a.m. to customers who have received a lottery number. Customers arriving after 7:00 a.m. will be issued permits on a first-come, first-served basis after all the lottery customers have been served. Lottery numbers may not be transferred to other customers, and there will be no phone reservations accepted until January 4.

Verification of a Saint Paul address will be required to obtain a lottery entry and to make a reservation.  Customers applying for a private event will be required to show a valid driver’s license for proof of Saint Paul residency.  For business reservations, documentation such as letterhead, stationery or business card must be provided prior to a lottery ticket being issued.  Organizations claiming tax exempt status must bring in a completed Minnesota ST3 form. This is an annual requirement. No exceptions.

Beginning Wednesday, January 4, 2017 permit applications will be accepted from Saint Paul residents and businesses over the telephone at 651- 632-5111 with credit card payment only. Regular Park Permit Office hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Non-residents may apply for permits beginning Wednesday, February 1, 2017.  Online shelter permits will be available starting February 1 as well.
