Ayd Mill Road will be closed November 4-10, 2019 for bridge demolition
SAINT PAUL, MN (October 30, 2019) – On November 4, 2019, Saint Paul Public Works will close Summit Avenue from Syndicate to Dunlap to all vehicle, bike and pedestrian traffic until October 2020 for a year-long bridge demolition and reconstruction project.
The vehicle and bike/pedestrian detours will be signed and use Grand Avenue. There will be no parking allowed on the northside of Grand Avenue between Syndicate and Dunlap for the protected bike path.
From November 4-10, 2019, Ayd Mill Road, which runs underneath the Summit Avenue bridge, will be closed to all traffic from Selby to Grand Avenue. Both the Selby and Hamline/Ashland access ramps to Ayd Mill Road will be closed to all traffic.
SUMMIT AVENUE BRIDGE detours for November 2019-October 2020:
- Vehicle Detours (Eastbound): Summit Avenue, south on Hamline Avenue, east on Grand, north on Lexington, east on Summit Avenue
- Bike and Pedestrian Detours (Eastbound): Summit Avenue, south on Syndicate Avenue, east on Grand, north on Dunlap, east on Summit Avenue
AYD MILL ROAD detours for November 4-10, 2019:
- All northbound vehicles must exit Ayd Mill Road at Grand Avenue, then turn left and head west to Snelling Avenue. Turn right and head north on Snelling Avenue to Selby.
- All southbound vehicles cannot access Ayd Mill Road on Selby. Vehicles must travel south on Snelling Avenue. Then turn left and head east on Grand Avenue. Turn right and head south on Ayd Mill Road.
Beginning November 11, Ayd Mill Road will be restricted to one northbound lane and one southbound lane underneath the Summit Avenue Bridge to ensure work zone safety and needed equipment and contractor project site access. Traffic delays can be expected. The Ayd Mill Road lane restrictions will remain in place for the entire year-long bridge reconstruction project.
