Como-Valentine Residential Street Resurfacing & Pedestrian Improvements

Anticipated Work Next Few Weeks:

• Address concrete punch list items throughout the project (scheduled work is weather permitting)
• Address sodding punch list items throughout the project (scheduled work is weather permitting)

Traffic Notes:

• Pedestrian traffic may be temporarily closed or disrupted at repair locations
• Please navigate sidewalks with awareness for yourselves and crews at work

• Paving is completed.
• Striping work is on going in various locations.

• Boulevard restoration and sod placement is on going in various locations along pedestrian ramps.

• Milling is scheduled to begin on Thursday, November 2 and continue through Saturday, November 4, weather permitting.

• Paving is scheduled for Monday, November 6, weather permitting.

• "No Parking 7am - 7pm" signs will be placed at least 24 hours prior to work and vehicles parked on the street will be ticketed and towed during pavement milling and overlay. Please follow all posted signs and do not park on the street. 
• The project area will be closed to thru traffic.

Paving work (milling and overlay) is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of November 6, 2023. Subject to change and weather permitting.

• Pavement milling will take approximately 2 days. 
• Paving will happen a few days after the milling.
• Order of street segments:
  • Day 1 - Buford, Keston (between Valentine and Buford), Valentine, Chilcombe, and Bourne.
  • Day 2 - Eustis, Brompton, Doswell, and Keston (between Carter and Valentine).

• Local traffic will be maintained. Please slow down and use caution when driving in work areas.
• Residents can drive on the pavement after it is milled. 

• Residents are advised to not drive or walk on the newly paved street until the crews operation is complete. Glue-like substance is very sticky and new pavement will be very hot.

• ADA/pedestrian ramp work: September – October
  • Pedestrian ramps will be constructed at various locations within the project area
• Pavement mill and overlay (resurfacing): October - November, once sidewalk and pedestrian ramp work is completed
