Description
New sidewalk will be constructed to fill gaps in the neighborhood around Crossroads Elementary and RiverEast Elementary and Secondary in 2025. The new sidewalk will be on Front Avenue, Lawson Avenue, Kent Street, and Mackubin Street.
New striping will be done on Front Avenue between Dale Street and Kent Street.

September 29 Construction Starts
Expect traffic control to be set up and some preparation work to occur starting Wednesday, September 24
Construction Schedule
- Wednesday, September 24 - No parking signs scheduled to be posted in the project area in advance of stump removal.
- Thursday, September 25 - Stump removal scheduled to start.
- Friday, September 26 - Traffic control signs will like be posted in advance of construction.
- Monday, September 29 - Construction is scheduled to start with the removal of concrete sidewalk where needed.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.
What you need to do prior to construction if sidewalk is being added in front of your property:
- Remove any personal property including fences, landscaping, plantings, or sprinkler systems in the public right of way, which may be up to 15 feet from the street/curb, as these may be impacted during construction.
- Any personal property left in the public right of way will be removed during construction and not replaced by the city.
