2022 System Plan

The City of Saint Paul is working with Visible City to prepare a new Parks and Recreation System Plan that will serve as a comprehensive guide to physical improvements and modifications to parks, athletic fields, recreation centers and trails. The System Plan will balance investment in park facilities with available resources and will be the blueprint for a successful and sustainable future for Saint Paul Parks and Recreation. 

The most recent Saint Paul Parks and Recreation System Plan was finalized in 2010. See below for information on the 2010 System Plan.

Community Meetings

The City of Saint Paul and Visible City will host a series of meetings to provide updates on System Plan progress and gather additional community feedback.

  • September 28, 6pm-7:30pm - Arlington Hills Community Center, 1200 Payne Ave. Saint Paul, MN 55130 

  • October 4, 6pm-7:30pm - Frogtown Community Center, 230 Como Ave. Saint Paul, MN 55103
  • October 10, 6pm-7:30pm - Virtual *Postponed to a later date. Please check back for updates. 

System Plan Community Interest Survey

The System Plan Community Interest Survey will provide Saint Paul Parks and Recreation with valuable information help guide our planning process. Please tell us about your parks and recreation experiences, interests, vision for the future and more in the survey below. This survey takes around 5-10 minutes to complete, or longer if you wish to review specific parks at the end of the survey. There is also a shorter survey available. 

Update: The Community Interest Survey was open from late June through October 2022 and is now closed.

If you were asked to design your own park, what would you include? What park feature is on your "must have" list? We have created a game to help you share all your ideas with us! This game is geared for all ages to be creative and identify your top priorities.

Engagement opportunities for youth

The new System Plan will guide Saint Paul Parks and Recreation into the future, so it is important that youth voices are heard throughout this planning process. A shorter version of our community interest survey is available, as well as a template where youth can draw their vision for the future of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation.
