Project Updates

1. September 22, 2022

   This week (September 19-23)

   • The mill and overlay work was completed along Summit Avenue on September 22.
   • The sidewalk from Mississippi River Boulevard to Ford Parkway was replaced.
   • All the driveway aprons with the scenic overlooks and the north gate entrance to Hidden Falls have been replaced and are fully reopened.

   Next week (September 26-30)

   • Finishing up any remaining concrete work, including along the north side of the Ford Parkway bridge, including regrading of landscaping and then hydroseeding.

2. August 19, 2022

   This week (August 15-19)

   • Hydro seeding on the boulevards on Summit Avenue, weather dependent

   Next Week (August 22-26)

   • Hydro seeding on the boulevards will continue if needed

3. August 12, 2022

   Next Week (August 15-19)

   • Hydro seeding on the boulevards on Summit Avenue
   • Touch up work on the black dirt will happen where needed before seeding occurs

4. July 29, 2022

   This week (July 25-29)

   • Turf restoration and clean up will continue and should finish
   • Traffic controls will be removed once the work is completed

5. July 22, 2022

   This week (July 18-22)

   • Completed the concrete work and asphalt restoration
   • Turf restoration started and should finish next week

   Next week (July 25-29)

   • Turf restoration and clean up will continue and should finish
   • Traffic controls will be removed once the work is completed

6. July 14, 2022

   This week (July 11-15)

   • Completed a majority of the concrete work and asphalt restoration

   Next week (July 18-22)

   • Remaining concrete will be completed
   • Clean up and boulevard turf restoration will continue
   • Traffic controls will be removed once the work is completed

7. June 23, 2022

   This week (June 20-24)

   • Storm Sewer Work
     • Curb and pavement have been removed on both the north and south sides of Summit Avenue to accommodate necessary storm sewer work.
     • All of the storm sewer work on the north side of Summit Avenue has been completed.
     • The project anticipates most storm sewer work on the south side will be completed by the end of this week.
     • Sewer work on the south side of Summit Avenue has begun and will continue working west to east until completed.
   • Pedestrian Improvements
     • Sidewalk and pedestrian ramp removals have begun on the north side of Summit Avenue and will continue working west to east on along Summit Avenue.
     • Curb has been placed on the north side of Saratoga Street and Pascal Street as well as the west side of the median(s) at those intersections.
     • Curb will continue to be placed this week on the north side of Summit Avenue working west to east from Saratoga Street to Dunlap Street.

   Next week (June 27-July 1)

   • The south side intersection of Summit Avenue and Albert Street is expected to be closed as early as Friday morning, June 24 or the following Monday, June 27 to accommodate necessary storm sewer work.
   • Sidewalk and pedestrian ramp removal and placement will continue on the north/west side of Summit Avenue at impacted intersections.
   • When restoration on the west side has been completed, work on the east side of the intersections will begin.
   • Pedestrians are asked to only use the south side of Summit Avenue during this phase of operations. Please follow all posted signs.
   • Pedestrians are also asked to remain aware of changing pedestrian access routes as access will change according to progress of work.
   • The project anticipates that sidewalk work will start on the south side of Summit Avenue sometime late next week.
   • Traffic control will remain in place on both the south and north sides of Summit Avenue until improvements have been completed. This includes removals, replacement, and sufficient concrete-curing time.
