Description
The project is reconstructing Wheelock Parkway from Edgerton Street to Arcade Street to replace the roadway pavement, sidewalks, curbs, and underground utilities including water and sewer.

Additional project benefits:

ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps
Boulevard trees - to be planted after street construction
Concrete outwalks and driveway aprons
Lantern-style street lighting

The project would like to inform area residents and visitors that tree removals will be taking place next week on Wheelock Parkway between Edgerton and Greenbrier Streets.
This work will be completed by Husky Construction, Inc. (HCI) and is in preparation for next year’s phase of reconstruction.
- Most trees scheduled for removal are in the parkway median
- The project expects this work to be completed within one-to-two days
- There may be temporary disruptions to traffic to allow for safe operations
- HCI will work with residents to provide and/or maintain driveway access
- Project Inspector Brad Mikiska (651-448-0115) will be onsite to oversee operations and work with impacted persons should challenges arise
- The project is in winter suspension with the exception of tree removal(s) and soil stabilizer being placed. The stabilizer work has been delayed due to rain and snow as it can only be applied under suitable weather conditions. The contractor will complete this work with the watershed district’s review/approval of application conditions.
- Sod will be installed in the spring.
- The roadway is open to traffic - traffic control equipment has been removed from the project area.

Water Main Replacement

Saint Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) will replace all lead water services from the water main to the property line (public right of way portion) as part of this project. If you have a lead water service from the property line to the water meter at your property (private portion), you can sign-up for SPRWS’ Lead Free Program to have this portion replaced at no cost. For additional information and to sign up for the Lead Free Program, visit www.stpaul.gov/water or call SPRWS’ Lead Free team at 651-266-6280.

As part of the road reconstruction project, SPRWS will be replacing the water main on Wheelock Parkway.

To continue to ensure the reliability of our system, SPRWS will be replacing the existing 8" cast iron water main with 8" ductile iron pipe. The scope of the main replacement work is as follows:

Replace approximately 1,200 feet of 8" cast iron water main with 8" ductile iron
Replace necessary valves and hydrants within the project area
