Protecting public health and safety is a priority for the City of Saint Paul as we work with our staff to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Most of our services may be accessed online or over the phone. The Department of Safety and Inspections (DSI) is creating new ways to serve in alignment with public health guidance throughout all phases of the pandemic.
We support limited public contact; however, customers who need to come into DSI’s offices at 375 Jackson will enter from the skyway. Customer Lobby hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A drop box for forms, plans and more is onsite, as well as a phone if you have questions. For everyone’s safety and to slow the spread:
We wear masks at DSI and throughout the building at 375 Jackson Street so be prepared to Mask Up;
We socially distance at DSI; and
We ask you to refrain from visiting us if you are sick.
Customers are advised to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Preservation (CDC), Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and Saint Paul – Ramsey County Public Health to ensure the safety of all Saint Paul residents and visitors.
Permits and license applications can be emailed or faxed in. Confidential and financial information should be faxed or dropped off. Finalized permits and receipts will be mailed or emailed to customers.
