Starting Monday, August 3, the intersection of Midway Parkway and Hamline Avenue will be closed
The project remains on schedule with all work expected to be completed before the State Fair begins. There may be Saturday work if needed.
Work Completed This Week
Contractor prepared the area and installed curb and gutter at the intersection of Hamline Avenue and Huron Boulevard.
At the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Hamline Avenue crews poured curb and began sidewalk installation.
Intersection of Nebraska Avenue and Hamline Avenue was opened to traffic.
Work Anticipated Next Week
- Contractor will close the intersection of Midway Parkway and Hamline Avenue to begin work there.
Traffic Impacts and Detours
- Hamline Avenue remains closed within the project area with traffic detoured to Snelling Avenue.
- Access to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory will be maintained:
- Snelling Avenue to Como Avenue to Midway Parkway
- Lexington Parkway to Estabrook Drive or Como Avenue and Midway Parkway
- Signs will be posted to direct traffic to Como Park
- Access to properties on Midway Parkway between Pascal Street and Hamline Avenue will be maintained:
- North and south Midway Parkway frontage roads will be configured as two-way streets to allow access to and from Pascal Street.
- No parking will be allowed on the frontage roads.
- Midway Parkway at Pascal Street will be closed to thru traffic. Parking will still be allowed in the parking spaces along Midway Parkway. If you park on Midway Parkway, you will need to carefully do a U-turn to exit at Pascal Street.
- Drivers should follow all posted signs and detour routes.
- Please drive slowly and safely through and around construction areas and be aware of workers and equipment.
