Guidelines

1. When to Use

   • To help users quickly navigate to specific sections of a long page. 

   • When providing a table of contents or on-page navigation menu. 

   • To improve accessibility by allowing users to jump directly to the main content. 

   • When deeplinking is useful so users can share or bookmark a specific section of a page.

2. What to Avoid

   • Avoid overusing them on short pages where scrolling is not a burden.
   • Don’t create anchor links without clear labels or context; users should understand where the link will take them.
   • Avoid linking to elements that aren’t clearly visible or don’t provide enough spacing (to prevent the target from being hidden behind sticky headers).
   • Avoid using generic text like “click here” or “read more.”

3. Accessibility Tips

   • Use descriptive and meaningful link text that conveys the destination or purpose of the anchor. 

   • Keep anchor link text concise so users can easily scan through the list.
