Project Overview

The City of Saint Paul's Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with Trust for Public Land, Springboard for the Arts, Summit-University Planning Council, and community members to develop a long-range plan for Central Village Park. The new long-range plan will serve as a guide for future improvements in and around the park.

Located at 457 Central Avenue, Central Village Park has served as a neighborhood gathering space since its construction in the 1970's. Over the years since, the needs of those in the surrounding neighborhoods have changed, outpacing the capacity of the park to serve them. We now have an opportunity to match the amenities of the park to the needs of the neighborhood.

Community members have already shared many great ideas for the park with project partners to address safety, programming, maintenance, and the general design of the park. While they have been instrumental in shaping the preliminary concept for improvements at the park, this conversation is ongoing and no critical decisions have been finalized regarding changes to the park at this time. You can join the conversation by taking our survey about the park.

The Concept Plan Survey is now closed. Please check back soon for our new Plan Comparison survey!

When the draft long-range plan is available it will be posted on this site for public comment. Please check back shortly for more ways to engage with us to develop the Central Village Park long-range plan.
