The Saint Paul Police Department has established in policy, enacted as part of the department’s partnership with local NAACP leadership, a mandate that officers carry business cards.

The primary response officer on scene, and any other officer as requested, will be required to provide their mandatory card during any of the following situations:

  • When anyone asks for the officer's name, badge number or card.
  • At all traffic stops.
  • To any identified victim or complainant at all calls for service.
