Earl Street Reconstruction Phase 1: Construction Begins on Monday, June 29
Pre-construction activities have started as of Monday, June 22, 2026.
Construction for the first phase of the Earl Street Reconstruction Project, from Maryland Avenue to Minnehaha Avenue, is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 29. Prior to the start date, you may see various pre-construction activities occurring along the corridor. Below is a general list of activities that you may see on the corridor:
- Traffic control setup and No Parking signs posted
- Tree protection installed
- Installation of erosion control
- Crews will be marking the corridor for construction limits
Next week's activities will include:
- Asphalt removals
- Saw cutting
- Continuing tree protection, erosion control, and traffic control
All project updates will be posted to www.stpaul.gov/EarlStreet
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.

Construction Hours
Generally, construction activities are between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Contractors may work on Saturdays. There may be occasions when contractors need to work after 7:00 p.m. or on weekends.
Parking Restrictions
Residents may park on the streets outside of the construction hours or if work is not happening on the block. In the event of an emergency, please leave your address or contact number on the dashboard of your vehicle so we can have you move your car if necessary.
Please follow all posted signs, especially “No Parking” signs. Streets will have temporary closures or lane restrictions during construction. Please notify tenants/renters/visitors about the project and any parking restrictions.
Driveway/Alley Access
There will be times when access to your driveway is not possible. Alley access may also be
impacted at times; one entrance to the alley will always be accessible. You will receive details and information in advance of temporary driveway or alley access restrictions.
