About Saint Paul Fire Explorers

The Saint Paul Fire Explorers is open to young men and women from the age of 14 to 20 years old, with an interest in learning more about careers in the field of fire suppression or emergency services. This is a comprehensive hands-on program that exposes young people to fire and emergency services career field options.

Explorers gather to train on a weekly basis to learn and experience what the Fire and EMS (Emergency Medical Services) careers are about. Their training will continue through August, with them training and participating in friendly competitions with other explorer posts demonstrating the practical skills learned.

Positive interaction with firefighters and paramedics is ensured, as is a good time and an educational experience! It is a dynamic way to get youth interested in pursuing a firefighting career path and we have several Saint Paul Fire Explorer alumni on the job right now!
