Overview

City of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department received funding to design and improve the existing Como Golf Course and Lakeside Pavilion parking lots. The project scope includes parking lot resurfacing, renovation of associated circulation pathways, stormwater management, and landscaping.

Project Updates

October 31, 2022: - The Como Golf Course Parking Lot is now open. The Non- motorized Boat Launch is now complete for carry in use.  Erosion control measures are in place in all three lots and within Como Lake until vegetation is more established and soil exposed from construction is stabilized. Trees and new plants are under warranty and will be observed during the first year from planting.

September 9, 2022:

  • Starting Monday, September 12th the parking lot at the Como Golf Course will be under construction for several weeks. The golf course will remain open during this time with parking available just behind Hole #5 in the Butterfly Lot (1237-1231 Kaufman Dr, St Paul, MN 55103). Golf course staff will meet you there to shuttle you to the clubhouse. Please contact the clubhouse directly with any questions at 651-488-9673 or to make a tee time.
  •
  • Landscape establishment is underway at the North and South Lot.
  • Non- motorized boat launch will be complete by early October.
  • The Grand Round node kiosk construction update: Construction is underway at the node location near the Lakeside Pavilion, with the node at Wheelock and Victoria set to begin the week of 9/12. Each node will include an informational kiosk, seat walls, bike racks and a bike fix-it station.  We expect minimal impacts on pedestrian and bike traffic and ask for your patience as construction crews work to completion.  Please reach out to Dave Ronzani with questions:  David.Ronzani@ci.stpaul.mn.us
  • Parks is beginning a revision to the Master Plan of Como Park! Primarily focused on the trails around Como Lake, the plan seeks to ease wayfinding and clarify intended usage of trails within the park while strengthening the connection to Saint Paul's Grand Round trail network. Community Engagement begins this fall while aiming for a completed Master Plan by Winter 2023.
