Description

SPRWS is committed to maintaining a reliable and efficient water system for our community. To extend the life of our existing infrastructure and prevent disruptions, we perform ‘cleaning and lining’ projects on aging water mains. These projects involve the cleaning and lining of existing cast iron water mains, a process that effectively refurbishes pipes from the inside, reducing leaks and improving water quality without the need for full replacement. 

The scope of this project includes: 

  • Cleaning and lining of approximately 6,400 feet of cast iron water main to prevent corrosion and enhance water quality.
  • Installation or replacement of valves and hydrants to enhance water flow and accessibility for emergency services.
  • Repair and restoration of affected street pavement, curbs, and sidewalks to ensure public safety and accessibility.

Lawson Forest West - Magnolia Ave, Lawson Ave, Jenks Ave, Case Ave, and Cook Ave.

Timeline

2026 Construction Season

  • August 28 Update: Watermain rehab work completed on all sections. Temporary main removal and final restorations in progress.
  • August 17 Update: Watermain rehab work is in progress. Testing on Magnolia Ave, Jenks Ave, Cook Ave, Case Ave complete. Lawson Ave testing in progress.
    • Roadway impacts:
      • Limited access traffic patterns in place on Magnolia Ave, Lawson Ave, Jenks Ave, Cook Ave, Case Ave
  • August 11 Update: Watermain rehab work is in progress. Testing on Magnolia and Lawson underway.
    • Roadway impacts:
      • Limited access traffic patterns in place on Magnolia Ave, Lawson Ave, Jenks Ave, Cook Ave, Case Ave
  • July 30 Update: Watermain rehab work is in progress. Crews testing on Magnolia Ave and Lawson Ave. Lining to be completed Aug 1 with Case Ave as the last street.
    • Roadway impacts:
      • Limited access on Magnolia Ave, Lawson Ave, Jenks Ave, Case Ave, and Cook Ave while work is underway. 
  • June 15 Update: Temp work underway, lining postponed to July 13
  • June 11 Update: Temp work underway, lining scheduled to begin July 6
