Parking Enforcement Officer

Parking Enforcement is an entry-level law enforcement job with the Saint Paul Police Department. Parking enforcement officers (PEOs) are non-sworn employees who enforce the City's parking regulations. They also assist police officers with vehicle tows and recovering stolen vehicles. The City of Saint Paul is a cultural and commercial hub for the Twin Cities metro, with millions of tourists and commuters visiting the city each year. Become a PEO and play a vital role in maintaining traffic safety across the city.

As an entry level position, SPPD requires that PEOs are simultaneously enrolled in a law enforcement degree program from a POST recognized accredited university or training center. As a PEO, you will have four (4) years from the date of hire to complete a two, or four-year degree, and the MN P.O.S.T. Skills Course. Once these required elements are completed, you will be eligible to apply to take the next scheduled police officer exam for the department.
