As part of the 2025 budget, the Saint Paul City Council reserved $1.4 million in Economic Development STAR funds for the development of a commercial corridor program.
The goal of the program is to provide dollars to organizations in a simple and streamlined way to advance economic development projects and programs on key corridors in the City of Saint Paul.
The City Council has identified 17 corridors throughout the City of Saint Paul to participate in the Commercial Corridor Program.
Pre-selected organizations with a history working in each of identified corridors will be allocated dollars to complete eligible activities. Each corridor will receive one allocation, and all funds must be spent within one year of receiving the allocation. The organizations will be added here once they are under contract for the Commercial Corridor Organization Assistance Program.
Programs and projects funded through Economic Development STAR must result in an economic development impact. Eligible activities through this program include the following:
Up to 10% of funds may be spent on administrative or indirect cost associated with managing or executing the proposed projects or programs.
