Current and Upcoming Bicycle Projects
The following is a list of current and upcoming construction projects or planning studies with a significant bicycle component.

The following streets will be resurfaced by the City of Saint Paul, presenting an opportunity for new or improved bicycle facilities.
- Front Avenue, from Dale Street to Rice Street - new striped bike lanes will be installed as part of the resurfacing project (resurfacing of Rice to Western Ave).
- Ruth Street, from Suburban Avenue to Stillwater Avenue - the existing striped bike lanes will remain with new pavement.
- Fairview Avenue, from Edgcumbe Road/Hampshire Avenue to Randolph Avenue - the existing striped shoulder will remain with new pavement. There may be an opportunity for widening the shoulder to standard bike lane width.

The following streets will be reconstructed by the City of Saint Paul, presenting an opportunity for new or improved bicycle facilities.
- Griggs-Scheffer Phase II - This project will reconstruct several streets and establish new shared lane bikeways on portions of Highland Parkway and Edgcumbe Road.
- Wheelock Parkway Phase V - This project will reconstruct Wheelock Parkway from Edgerton Street to Arcade Street and will install a new two-way bike sidepath running in the center median. This is continued work from 2022.
- Edgcumbe Road Reconstruction - This project will install new bike lanes from St. Paul Avenue to Hampshire Avenue.
- Minnesota Street Reconstruction - This project will install a new separated bike lane from Kellogg Boulevard to 6th Street in downtown.
- Kellogg Boulevard - This project will reconstruct part of Kellogg and include a new separated bike lane on the north side of the street, from Jackson Street to St. Peter Street.
- Annapolis Street Reconstruction - This project will reconstruct Annapolis from Smith Avenue to Robert Street and install new bike lanes. It is being led by the City of West Saint Paul.

The following projects will be led by Saint Paul Parks & Recreation Department and will result in new or improved bicycle facilities.
- Fish Hatchery Trail - the project will reconstruct the shared use path of the Fish Hatchery Trail between Warner Road and Battle Creek Regional Park trailhead. This project will begin in 2023, with the majority of work happening in 2024.
- Wabash Trail connection - this project will add a new shared use path connection between the intersection of Eustis Street and Wabash Avenue and Myrtle Avenue along abandoned rail
- Hamline Avenue, from Montreal Avenue to Highland Parkway - this project will add a new shared use path along the east side of Highland Golf Course

- The City of Saint Paul is updating the Saint Paul Bicycle Plan. This document guides the construction of bikeways across the city.
- The City of Saint Paul is developing a Transportation Safety Action Plan to identify and eliminate fatalities and serious injuries from vehicle crashes for everyone (pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and drivers). You can learn more about the plan here.
- Ramsey County is leading an effort to develop a long-range plan that will guide transportation projects that are accessible to people of all ages and abilities. You can learn more about the All-Abilities 2050 Transportation Plan here.

The following projects will be led by Ramsey County and will result in new or improved bicycle facilities.
- Lexington Parkway Realignment - this project will install shared use paths on a newly reconstructed Lexington Parkway between W 7th Street and Shepard Road.
- Cleveland Avenue - Como Avenue to Larpenteur Avenue - This project will reconstruct the street and create new bike lanes as well as a new sidepath. This is continued work from 2022.
- Jackson Street - Arlington Avenue to Larpenteur Avenue - This project will resurface this segment of Jackson Street and add new bike lanes. This is continued work from 2022.
- Cleveland Avenue - Randolph Avenue to Eleanor Avenue - The existing striped bike lanes will remain with new pavement.
- Randolph Avenue - Cleveland Avenue to Macalester Street - This project will resurface this segment of Randolph and add new bike lanes.
- Larpenteur Avenue (2024) - Flandrau Street to Hazel Street - This project will reconstruct the street and create new bike lanes on a segment of Larpenteur.

The following projects will be led by Minnesota DNR and will result in new or improved bicycle facilities.
- Gateway Trail Westminster Bridge - the Gateway Trail bridge over Westminster Street just north of Arlington Avenue will be reconstructed.
- Gateway Trail realignment - the Gateway Trail between Arlington Avenue and south of Maryland Avenue will be reconstructed to run along the west side of Interstate 35E.

- Bruce Vento Elementary SRTS project - the City of Saint Paul received federal funding to construct bicycle and pedestrian improvements near Bruce Vento Elementary at Arkwright Street and Case Avenue. In addition to crossing improvements on Case and Arkwright, the project will result in a striped bike lane on Arkwright between Case and Maryland, shared lanes on Arkwright between Case and Cayuga and Maryland and the Gateway State Trail, and a short trail connection between the northern end of Arkwright and the Gateway State Trail.
