Parkland Ash Tree Management

Ash trees scheduled for removal throughout the city’s parklands are identifiable by a green ring painted around the trunk. The majority of ash trees in maintained turf areas (e.g.: in picnic areas, or near play grounds) have been removed, however some are being treated and will remain for the foreseeable future. The City is currently scheduling the removal of ash trees in unmaintained areas of parkland.

  • Ash tree removals within Como Park and along Mississippi River Boulevard have been completed.
  • Ash tree removals along Shepard Road have been completed.
  • Ash trees within Como Golf Course and Phalen Golf Course are scheduled for removal by a contractor in 2024.
  • Ash trees within Crosby Farm Regional Park are scheduled for removal by a contractor in 2024.
