Rice and Arlington Batting Cages will be closed

Face masks are welcome but not required. Batting Cages are walk-in, reservation required for Multipurpose Room

Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter has lifted the masking requirement for staff and visitors in City-controlled facilities. Face masks are welcome and will be available for anyone wishing to wear one. Visitors are still encouraged to maintain distance from others when possible, to wash hands frequently, and to stay home if feeling sick.

Reservations for the Rice & Arlington Batting Cages are no longer active, walk in during our posted business hours. The Multipurpose Room still requires a reservation. Please review the re-opening guidelines and procedures below in order to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants and staff.

COVID-19 rules and safety procedures 

The following procedures will be in place according to MDH restrictions and guidelines. We ask that you take this time to review these rules before arriving. 

COVID-19 Batting Cages and Multipurpose Room Rules 

  • Check in at front desk upon arrival for instructions and to make payment.

  • Drinking fountains are turned on but we recommend bringing a full water bottle.

  • Bathrooms are available.

  • An appropriate social distance for these spaces is 6 feet.

  • Participants will have to check equipment in and out after each use.

  • Staff will complete a deeper cleaning between sessions.

  • Reservations are required for the Multipurpose Room - Timeslots begin at the top of the hour and go for 45 minutes, giving our staff time to sanitize between participants. 

About Rice and Arlington Batting Cages

The Rice and Arlington Batting Cages include four pitching stations equipped for baseball and softball.

  • Baseball - speeds from 40, 50, 60, and 70 mph
  • Fastpitch softball - speeds from 40, 50, and 60 mph
  • Slowpitch softball
