2025 EMS Academy

Application opens June 1st and closes July 18th - Apply using the Right Track Hub

Enroll in the Saint Paul EMS Academy to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Tuition, books, uniforms, and equipment are paid for by the academy, and participants receive a Stipend to attend class. We seek diverse young adults in St. Paul interested in starting a career in emergency medicine.

Qualifications:
- Have an interest in entering the EMS field.
- Be a Saint Paul resident 
- Come from a cost-burdened household or have a barrier to employment

WHEN IS THE EMS ACADEMY?
The EMS Academy will occur Fall 2025 for 13 weeks. Classes typically take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Emergency Medical Services: The City of Saint Paul EMS Academy

EMS Academy is a paid EMT certification program. Participants are paid for 240 hours of training over 10-14 weeks. Following graduation, participants may pursue on-the-job training through the BLS Non-Emergency Ambulance Service. 

The Saint Paul Fire Department’s EMS Academy is run in partnership with the city’s Right Track program through Saint Paul Parks and Recreation.
