YJ1 Eligibility

YJ2 Eligibility

To be eligible for a Right Track YJ1 internship, you must:

  • Be 14 years old by June 1 and no older than 19 years old by August 25
  • Live in Saint Paul
  • Meet income criteria OR have a barrier to employment (see below) 

To be eligible for a Right Track YJ2 internship, you must:

  • Be 16 years old by June 1 and no older than 21  years old on June 1
  • Live in Saint Paul
  • Have previous work experience (at least 1 full summer or more than 100 hours)
  • Meet income criteria OR have a barrier to employment (see below) 

Income Criteria

Applicant must have a household income that is less than the guideline shown below OR have a listed barrier to employment:

Barriers to Employment

Barriers to employment can include:
  • youth who are pregnant or parenting
  • youth with Limited English Proficiency
  • youth who have dropped out of high school or who have a high potential of dropping out
  • youth who are juvenile offenders or in a diversion program
  • youth receiving public assistance and/or group home services
  • youth with disabilities, including learning disabilities
  • youth in transition (currently homeless or runaway)
  • youth who are chemically dependent or are children of drug or alcohol abusers/dependents
  • youth with basic skills deficiency
  • youth with educational attainment one or more levels below grade level appropriate to age
  • youth in foster care
