Saint Paul Parks and Recreation offers summer camps at parks and recreation centers throughout the city.
Recreation in Motion
Recreation in Motion brings outdoor summer fun to your neighborhood! Recreation in Motion (formerly know as Roaming Rec) is a free youth program offering athletic programs, arts and crafts, and other organized activities led by the fun and energetic Recreation in Motion team. Snacks will be served at each session.
Fitness in the Parks
Our 2021 Fitness in the Parks schedule is now available. Fitness in the Park classes are free and all are welcome.
Movies in the Parks and Music in the Parks
Our popular Movies in the Park and Music in the Park series are back! Events are free unless otherwise noted. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. View the schedules and visit a park for some outdoor entertainment!
Summer Rec Check
Our popular Rec Check after-school program is back with some safety modifications to align with the CDC and MN Department of Health guidelines on COVID-19. This program is free. Registration is required. Summer Rec Check (formerly known as Summer Blast) registration is now open. Summer Rec Check still has everything you love about our previous Blast program, but with a new name!
Aquatics Programs and Facilities
Phalen Beach, Como Regional Park Pool, and Highland Park Aquatic Center are open. Visit the aquatics webpage for information hours, swimming lessons, sailing lessons, memberships and more. Splash pads are open from 9am-9pm daily. Great River Water Park will be closed from June 10, 2021 through September 6, 2021.

Rice and Arlington Batting Cages
The Rice and Arlington batting cages and multipurpose room have re-opened. Reservations are required. Review the re-opening guidelines and procedures and make a reservation on the batting cage webpage.

S’more Fun is a recreational childcare program providing structured and unstructured activities designed to help children pursue their own interests, develop friendships, gain confidence, and build independence in a safe, comfortable, and fun atmosphere.
Recreation for Preschoolers
Recreation for Preschoolers encourages children to play, socialize, and grow from daily lesson plans that prioritize educational experiences and recreation.
Safe Summer Nights
Safe Summer Nights are free public events that feature food, activities for children and ample opportunities for attendees to meet their Saint Paul police officers.
Free Family Fishing Nights
Free family fishing nights are back at Phalen Regional Park. All fishing equipment and bait is provided. Just show up and fish with TipsOutdoors.
Como Park Zoo & Conservatory
Como Zoo and The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory have reopened and are now taking reservations for visitors. Current health guidelines will be followed, including taking reservations to limit capacity, requiring masks, and staying at least four flamingos or one polar bear away from other guests.
