2025-26 No-School Days

Saint Paul Parks and Recreation offers fun programs to keep youth and families active and engaged during fall, winter, and spring breaks as well as other days when Saint Paul Public Schools are not in session.​

No-school day programs including Rec Check, Rec Check Extended and S'more Fun, will be offered on the following days when Saint Paul Public Schools are not in session:

  • October 16-17 (MEA Break)
  • December 22, 23, 26 (Winter Break, week 1)
  • December 29, 30, 31, January 2 (Winter Break, week 2)
  • April 6-10 (Spring Break)

Additional programming map be offered during other no-school days. Check back or contact your local recreation center for more details. 


More drop-in programming 

 Open Gym Tot Times Pickleball 

January 20 and 21 drop-in programming 

  • Free, drop-in programming available 9am-6pm at the following sites: Frogtown, North End, North Dale, Jimmy Lee/Oxford, Arlington Hills, Highland Park, Battle Creek
  • Activities vary by site but could include gym games, arts & crafts, teen room, cooking, movies, and more!
  • Lunch will be provided. 
  • No pre-registration is required, but we ask that you call or check in with staff before dropping off your child.

Rec Check

Rec Check is a free after-school and no-school day program for youth in grades 1-5. Program is offered Monday - Thursday 2 - 6pm and Friday 2 - 5:30pm.

Rec Check Extended

Rec Check Extended offers full-day care at several sites from 8:30am - 5pm during select no-school days. The cost is $10/day. 

S'more Fun

S'more Fun is a recreational childcare program providing structured and unstructured activities designed to help children pursue their own interests, develop friendships, gain confidence, and build independence in a safe, comfortable, and fun atmosphere. S'more Fun offers full-day care when Saint Paul Public Schools are not in session.
