2025-26 No-School Days
Saint Paul Parks and Recreation offers fun programs to keep youth and families active and engaged during fall, winter, and spring breaks as well as other days when Saint Paul Public Schools are not in session.
No-school day programs including Rec Check, Rec Check Extended and S'more Fun, will be offered on the following days when Saint Paul Public Schools are not in session:
- October 16-17 (MEA Break)
- December 22, 23, 26 (Winter Break, week 1)
- December 29, 30, 31, January 2 (Winter Break, week 2)
- April 6-10 (Spring Break)
Additional programming map be offered during other no-school days. Check back or contact your local recreation center for more details.

- Dec. 22-23, 1-4pm: Camp Christmas with Kidcreate Studio (El Rio Vista)
- Dec. 30, 12:45-4pm: Winter Break Bowling; ages 12-15 (Phalen)
- Dec. 26-30, 12-12:30pm: Learn to Skate over Christmas Break! Ages 3-5 (Groveland)
- Dec. 26-30, 12:30-1pm Learn to Skate over Christmas Break! Ages 6-12 (Groveland)
- Dec. 29-30, 10am-12pm: Chibi Drawing & Art (El Rio Vista)
- Dec. 29-31, 1:30-5:30pm: Open Swim for No School Days (Great River Water Park)
- Dec. 30, 4-5:30pm: Youth Open Cornhole (Arlington Hills)
Rec Check
Rec Check is a free after-school program for youth in grades 1-5. On the dates listed above when Saint Paul Public Schools are not session, Rec Check will take place from 1 - 4pm.
Rec Check Extended
Rec Check Extended offers full-day care at several sites from 8:30am - 5pm during select no-school days. The cost is $10/day.
S'more Fun
S'more Fun is a recreational childcare program providing structured and unstructured activities designed to help children pursue their own interests, develop friendships, gain confidence, and build independence in a safe, comfortable, and fun atmosphere. S'more Fun offers full-day care when Saint Paul Public Schools are not in session.
