A Refrigeration Business Trade License allows the holder to install any device using refrigerant for either comfort cooling or refrigeration of products (central air conditioners, chillers, heat pumps, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, refrigerated cases, etc.)

Your business trade license application will need the following required document(s):
- A current City of Saint Paul Certificate of Competency (Master Refrigeration)
- A Certificate of Insurance with a combined single limit of liability for bodily injury and property damage of $500,000; or $500,000 bodily injury and $200,000 property damage and thirty (30) day notice of cancellation
- Our department must be listed as a certificate holder as follows: City of Saint Paul, DSI, 375 Jackson Street, Suite 220, Saint Paul MN 55101.
- Current $25,000 Mechanical Bond (MB) on file at Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry
- Proof of Worker's Compensation
Fees: The annual fee for trade licenses is $188.00 each.
Expiration/Renewal: All Trade Licenses expire on December 1 and may be renewed annually.
