A Warm Air Business Trade License allows the holder to install any equipment used in an environmental heating system which includes a heating appliance (furnace) and ducts designed to discharge air into a space through a duct system. 

A Ventilation Business Trade License allows the holder to install any equipment used in the process of supplying or removing air by natural or mechanical means to or from any space.

Apply for a Warm Air and/or Ventilation License in PAULIE

Your business trade license application will need the following required document(s):

  • A current City of Saint Paul Certificate of Competency (Master Warm Air and/or Ventilation) OR proof of current City of Minneapolis Master's Card (Master Warm Air and/or Ventilation)
  • A Certificate of Insurance with a combined single limit of liability for bodily injury and property damage of $500,000; or $500,000 bodily injury and $200,000 property damage and thirty (30) day notice of cancellation
    • Our department must be listed as a certificate holder as follows: City of Saint Paul, DSI, 375 Jackson Street, Suite 220, Saint Paul MN 55101.
  • Current $25,000 Mechanical Bond (MB) on file at Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry
  • Proof of Worker's Compensation Form

Fees: The annual fee for trade licenses is $188.00 each.

Expiration/Renewal: All Trade Licenses expire on December 1st and may be renewed annually.
