Overview

Businesses that barter or sell any cut evergreen, fir, spruce, or similar tree for what is generally known and described as a Christmas tree must be licensed. This does not include ornamental trees less than 36 inches tall that are fireproofed and sprayed with coloring and sold by licensed florists. The sales location must be zoned commercial, institutional, church, or school. If you have questions, contact DSI at 651-266-8989, or email the DSI Message Center.

This license requires inspection approval from Licensing (Phone: 651-266-8989) and Zoning (Phone: 651-266-9008).

Expiration/Renewal

A Christmas Tree Sales License is valid from November 1 to January 9 of the following year.
