The Saint Paul Skyway system is a public pedestrian system integrated into the larger downtown transportation system. The system supports economic vitality downtown and allows people to navigate throughout the downtown area in all weather conditions while affording developers opportunities to provide shop and office space abutting the concourse.

Effective March 13, 2022, Mayor Carter has continued the temporary reduction of the Skyway system's operating hours to 6 am-11 pm through April 4 by declaration. General operating hours, 6 am-12 Midnight, will resume effective April 5, 2022.
