This license is for reusable materials. It does not include yard waste. The license covers facilities that accept, store, and process recyclable materials, whether or not maintained in connection with another business. Processing includes but is not limited to bailing, briquetting, crushing, compacting, grinding, shredding, sawing, shearing, sorting, and the heat reduction of recyclable materials. You must submit the following:
- Class N City License Application
- Lease / rental agreement or proof of ownership
- A site plan
- Required fee
Your application will be administratively reviewed by DSI Licensing, Zoning and Fire Inspection staff. This review may include on site inspections(s) to verify compliance with applicable regulations. You will be informed of any required inspections including the name and telephone number of the inspector after the submission of a completed license application. The location must be in compliance with all applicable regulations and/or license conditions before any license may be issued. This license also requires inspection approvals from the Ramsey County Department of Public Health.
The annual fee for a Recycling Processing Center License is $874.00 per location.
A Recycling Processing Center License will expire one year from date of issuance and may be renewed annually.
