Overview
Automobile repair garage is a business maintaining or operating an automobile or motor vehicle garage must get an Auto Repair Garage License. This does not apply where the work performed is done by a gasoline filling station licensed under Chapter 424 and consists of the usual servicing of motor vehicles ordinarily performed at such stations, such as the sale and installation of frost shields, radiator hoses, spark plugs, batteries and battery cables, brake fluid, oil filters, fuses, fan belts, light bulbs and windshield wipers, or such service as draining radiators; provided, however, that if such gasoline filling stations engage in the business of repairing mechanical parts of motor vehicles, a license as provided herein shall be required. Inspections
Your application will be administratively reviewed by DSI Licensing, Zoning and Fire Inspection staff. This review may include on-site inspections(s) to verify compliance with applicable regulations. You will be informed of any required inspections including the name and telephone number of the inspector after the submission of a completed license application. The location must be in compliance with all applicable regulations and/or license conditions before any license may be issued.

Expiration/Renewal
The Auto Repair Garage License will expire one year from date of issuance and may be renewed annually.
