Burglar Alarm

Overview

A permit is required for all homes and businesses equipped with burglar alarm systems. If you have questions, contact Safety & Inspections at 651-266-8989, or email the DSI Message Center.

See Chapter 329 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code for information on burglar alarm permits.

Application Requirements

  1. Alarm Permit Application 
  2. Key-holder information must be provided on the application if the alarm system is not monitored
  3. Required fee

Second false alarm violation (per calendar year) $77.00
Third false alarm violation (per calendar year) $102.00
Fourth false alarm violation (per calendar year) $204.00
Fifth false alarm violation (per calendar year) $306.00
Sixth false alarm violation (per calendar year)  $408.00
Seventh false alarm violation (per  calendar  year) and up $510.00

Expiration & Renewal

A Burglar Alarm License will expire one year from date of issuance and may be renewed annually.
